Experience the thrill of Sand Tobogganing up to 70 km/h as we visit the Desert. This fully supervised activity is guaranteed to give you the thrill ride of a lifetime as you slide down a huge naturally formed sand dune.

See Nemo up close as we take you on a fully guided snorkel of the Tangalooma Shipwrecks. See coral, fish, turtles and much more as we weave our way through the shipwrecks on our snorkelling discovery.

What is the itinerary/schedule for the activities?

All activities are subject to winds, tides, and weather conditions on the day. Therefore there is no set time for the activities during touring between 10am and 4pm .

How long does it take to get to Moreton Island?

The boat trip is approximately 75 minutes from the time we depart Port of Brisbane and arrive the Island.

What is Local Fee / Pay On Board (POB) Fee? Why do I need to pay that?

The Local Fee / Pay On Board Fee covers the Boat tickets and the National Park Fee – obtaining permission to enter the National Park / World Heritage Listed Area.

How do I make a booking?

I am already on Moreton Island. Can I join your activities directly on the island?

Yes. You can. You can join us directly on the island for either a full day package tour (including kayaking, snorkelling & sand boarding AND one picnic lunch ) or any of the activity individually. Please give us a call to book in advance.

What do I need to bring?

A towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, thongs, waterproof camera, money to buy drinks or snacks from the bar on the boat.

What do I get for lunch?

A picnic lunch is provided – “Make-your-own” sandwich/wrap with freshly-cut vegetables/cold meat/condiments.

Do you provide wetsuit?

We have wetsuits for hire.

Do you provide snorkelling gear?

We provide masks, gloves, snorkel and fins.

Do you have life jackets and safety equipment?

Yes, we have a large range of life jackets and body board for floatation. Our guides are only too happy to help for any assistance and instruction.

Do you supply towels?

No. You need to bring your own towels.

Is shower facilities available on the beach?

Yes. There is a cold shower to freshen up after your swim.

What are the types of accommodation?

It is multiple share backpacker style accommodation, normally 4-6 people in one room. We also provide upgrade options: beach house twin motel room accommodation and Glamping tents accommodation, extra fee applies. Please call us for upgrade availability and cost.

Do I need to bring my own sleeping bag?

Linens are provided in the standard Dorm-share / Private Room / Glamping Tent as you are not camping.

Is there any towel / toiletries / hairdryer supplied in the accommodation?


Is there any WIFI on the Island?

Unfortunately WIFI service is not available on the Island.

Do I get any refund if water activity (kayaking and/or snorkelling) are cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions?

Unfortunately there is no refund due to bad weather conditions. Safety is the first. We will try our best effort to replace the cancelled activity with an Island scenic tour if unpredictable severe weather condition happens, however not guaranteed.

Can I change the tour date before tour departure?

Yes, you can. However, we can only allow you to change it once, and please confirm the change at least 24 hours before your original tour departure date. After one change, no more change is allowed and there is no refund.

Do I get any discount if I book another tour(s) with Australian Sunset Safaris?

Yes. You will receive 10% off when you call us directly to book a second tour or third tour with us.

Is there public holiday surcharge if I travel on public holidays?

Yes. There is AU$10 pp holiday surcharge for Moreton Island 1-day tour and AU$20 pp holiday surcharge for Moreton Island 2-day tour during Christmas holiday period , New Year’s Day and Easter long weekend. There is no surcharge on other public holidays except these 3 holiday periods.
