It was a crisp wintery morning on the Gold Coast when we boarded our bus to Fraser Island. Travelling with another ambassador Saud from Saudi Arabia, it wasn’t difficult to pass the time on the long journey. I absolutely love long drives through the country, stopping at local coffee shops along the way. Our first pit stop was at a town called Rainbow Beach, where the bus was quickly serviced before entering the sandy island. We had a quick lunch and explored the local scene while soaking in the beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
Then we boarded the bus, ‘Manta-Ray’ and boarded the ferry to Fraser Island. It was an out of this world experience for me. Driving on the beach highway was amazing. We spotted a dingo lingering on the beach just a few minutes later; we could not have asked for a better welcome. The sprawling views of the Pacific Ocean from the Indian Headlands were just mind blowing; we stopped counting how many breaching whales we saw from there. It just kept getting better as we checked into our resort on the Island; Eurong Beach Resort which was our base on the island.
Barry was an amazing tour guide + driver + mate. Because of him and his knowledge we learnt so much about the Fraser Island. Hats off to him. The places we visited on the island were just incredible. I can’t even pick a favourite because every scenic view was even more breath-taking than the last.
I have to thank Sunset Safaris for offering me as an Ambassador, the opportunity to visit this enchanting place and Study Gold Coast for providing us with yet another wonderful student experience.
